Shedecided to stay at home with her family. Frank served in the U.S. Armyin World War II and upon returning to civilian life went to work for NASAwhere he retired after many years. Gladys graduated from Dyke Collegewhere she learned her secretarial skills. She was a staunch churchworker and spent many hours giving tours through the StrongsvilleHistorical Village and Frank worked almost daily with Howard Chapmanrestoring the Baldwin House, the Academy, and the Olds General Storeuntil Gladys took ill with cancer at which time, he was at her sideconstantly until the good Lord took her. It was this Gladys that workedtirelessly accumulating information on her Carpenter Family. Many avacation was spent going to various locations, such as cemeteries,courthouses, historical societies and libraries in order to find themissing person in a given family. We take our hat off to Gladys for herdetermination to make her Carpenter History as complete as she could makeit. She took Amos Carpenter's Book and followed our complete line ofdescent, giving each person the numbers that Amos had given them andadded a decimal point for each additional generation. Thus you find hernumbering system throughout this book that we are trying to compile withall of the information that Gladys collected. We hope that if she werealive, she would approve of the way we are compiling her work. Gladys wasa true Christian person and living with the rule 'Do Unto Others As YouWould Have Others Do Unto You". She endeavored to give 100% of herself toall projects she started and never started anything that she didn'tfinish. Gladys was a very special person to each and every familymember, to her church members, to her historical members and yes, to herclassmates of 50 or more years. Her final act as a classmate was callingeach one and telling them of their class reunion. On the 23 March 1991Frank Charles Kocsis married Juanita Clara Lloyd, who lost her husbandRalph several years ago. Ironically enough in Gladys' school years, sheand Frank used to go on double dates with Ralph and Juanita. Juanita wasborn 12 Aug. 1922 at Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio, daughter of DallasLorain Lloyd and Irene Mae Miller. Frank and Juanita were married in theUnion United Methodist Church in Sardis Dallas Co., Alabama. Gladys andFrank had three children.
